Ryo Kinoshita

In the exhibition P o E, Ryo Kinoshita shows new works. Haptics of color and structures of the canvas play a major role in his partly abstract, partly representational paintings – the relationship between the material he applies and the materiality of the image carrier is of particular importance. In the work „Paradise of Eden“, a black-and-white bulge of color wanders through the dark canvas that surrounds it, which is piled up by Japanese binding techniques and becomes a mountainous landscape.

In der Ausstellung P 0 E zeigt Ryo Kinoshita neue Arbeiten. In seinen teils abstrakten, teils gegenständlichen Malereien spielen Haptik der Farbe und Struktur der Leinwand eine große Rolle – die Beziehung zwischen dem Material das er aufträgt und der Materialität des Bildträgers ist von besonderer Bedeutung. In der Arbeit „Paradise oder Eden“ wandert eine schwarz-weiße Farbwulst durch die sie umgebene, dunkle Leinwand, die sich durch japanische Bindetechnik auftürmt und zu einer bergigen Landschaft wird.

Ryo Kinosgita wurde 1985 in Nagasaki, Japan geboren und studierte von 2013 bis 2018 an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf bei Tal R, Enrico David und Tomma Abts.
